THE DOs |
Hem your jeans. But use a very good seamstress. Get recommendations from friends before bringing someone your new $150 jeans to cut-up!
Cut your jeans. But use Dritz® Fray Check to prevent further fraying and shortening in the wash or dryer. Fray Check will "glue" the end fibers together (and will prevent the unseamed jeans from rolling up at the heel). Very neat trick! |
VERY IMPORTANT: If you plan to wash and/or dry your jeans, do it a few times before cutting or hemming them to make sure they've done most of the shrinking they're going to do. |
Choose jeans with a straighter leg to stretch the leg line. |
Elongate your legs in trouser-style jeans. Pants with pinstripes also give the illusion of height. |
THE DONTs |
If you want to do a boot cut make it a slimmer boot cut style like the
Kasil Eleanore Jean
. Regular boot cut or wide leg jeans could make the legs look short and stocky. |
Avoid jeans with cuffs. |
Try not to wear wide-legs that drag the floor. They only accentuate the fact that your pants don't fit you properly. |
